Child and Teen Checkups

Routine comprehensive examinations for children and adolescents are important to identify and encourage healthy growth, identify concerns and encourage the development of good health habits.  Child and Teen Checkups (C&TC) program provides reminders to children and adolescents aged 0 through 20 years old who are Medicaid-eligible, to stay up to date with routine well child preventative care visits.

A Child and Teen Checkup is a comprehensive well child check which includes physical exam, developmental, social-emotional and mental health screening, immunizations & lab tests, risk assessments, hearing and vision screening, and oral health review including dental varnishing.  Referrals are made to other providers if further evaluation is needed. The comprehensive examinations follow the Minnesota Department of Health C&TC Schedule of Age-Related Screening Standards according to the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment Program.

These checkups meet preschool, Head Start and day care screening requirements.

Cass County Public Health can provide Child and Teen Checkups, by appointment, to children under the age of 13 years old.
