Public Health Services
Our Mission is to deliver quality public health services to the citizens in an effective, professional and efficient manner.
The work of Cass County Public Health Division revolves around the National Public Health Theme "Prevent. Promote. Protect." As we focus on fulfilling the Minnesota Department of Health's six areas of public health responsibility:
- Assure an adequate local public health infrastructure
- Promote healthy communities and health behaviors
- Prevent the spread of infectious and healthy behaviors
- Protect against environment health hazards
- Prepare for and respond to disasters, assist communities in recovery
- Assure the quality and accessibility of health services
Home Care
Nursing services for all age groups ranging from rehabilitation after hospitalization to ongoing support needed for individuals to remain in their home.
Long Term Care Consultation - LTCC
Personal Care Assistant Assessment - PCA
Immunizations
Available for qualifying adults without health insurance
WIC
Women, Infants & Children - Nutrition education and support program for eligible pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women and children until age 5.
Follow Along Program
Learning and Developmental Milestone monitoring program for children ages 0 to 3.
Child & Teen Checkups
Screenings and outreach for children 0 through age 20 who are eligible for Medical Assistance.
Immunizations
Available for qualifying children and adolescents.
Car Seats
Child Passenger Safety Seat Technicians provide instruction on proper use and installation of car seats for infants & children. You may be eligible for a car seat through MA or your health plan.
Family Home Visiting
Public Health Nurse home visiting for pregnancy, postpartum and early childhood years.
Children and Youth with Special Health Needs
Cass County Public Health partners with Minnesota Department of Health to help families and children who were born with high-risk birth defects or hearing loss get connected with resources.
Family Planning and Reproductive Health
Reproductive health services for males & females
Foodborne Illness

Free, safe disposal of medications that are no longer needed or are expired.
