The SWCD makes cost-sharing dollars available to Cass County landowners for a variety of conservation projects. Eligible practices must meet technical specifications and be maintained by the landowner for a minimum effective life of 10 years. Private Forest Management Plans are the most requested projects in Cass County. Other cost-sharing projects could include Shoreland/Pollinator habitat improvement and Stormwater/Erosion control. Agricultural producers with NRCS approval have cost-share opportunities for cover crops, water supplies, and other grazing practices. There is also funding available on a watershed basis currently the Leech Lake River and Pine River watersheds have approved implementation plans.
Applications must have SWCD board approval before the project can start.
