Crime Victim Services

Overview

This office is grant-funded by the County Attorney's Office and offers assistance to "general crime victims." This refers to but is not limited to:

  • Assault
  • Robbery
  • Burglary
  • Theft
  • Homicide
  • DWI vehicular homicide or injury
  • Arson
  • Criminal damage to property
  • Bias/hate crimes

Support Services

  • Crisis Intervention
  • Reassurance and support
  • Information regarding the rights of victims
  • Referral to other agencies or sources of assistance
  • Help to complete Restraining/Harassment orders
  • Transportation for court-related appointments

Court Related Services

  • Information regarding the criminal justice system
  • Support and accompaniment to court or other legal proceedings
  • Information concerning the status and disposition of the case
  • Support and accompaniment to court or other legal proceedings
  • Notification of court proceedings
  • Assistance in preparing Victim Impact Statements.

Financial Assistance

  • Assistance in completing county and state compensation forms
  • Information and assistance with the county restitution forms
  • Assistance in obtaining the release of property held as evidence
