Overview

The Cass County Public Health Advisory Committee is being expanded to a Health, Human and Veterans Services Advisory Committee under a Human Services Board structure to fulfil the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, Section 402.03 and Chapter 145A.10. 

The purpose of the committee is to:

  • Actively participate in the formulation of the annual plan of the Agency's programs and services
  • Make recommendations concerning the Agency's annual budget
  • Actively participate in addressing local priorities and achieving statewide outcomes
  • Review and evaluate the Annual Report of the Agency
  • Review and comment on special interest groups and community-at-large input regarding programs, service and performance
  • To review the agency's policies and augment changes when the need arises
  • Perform such other powers and duties as may be provided by law 

Membership

  • One-third (1/3) of the members of the Advisory Committee shall be representatives of those persons receiving services provided by the Board. 
  • Up to one-third (1/3) may be providers or employees of providers of services. 
  • The remaining members (1/3) shall represent citizens of the County. 

One County Commissioner shall be selected by the County Board to serve on the Committee.
